Hi, James with Auto Alternative here. I’d like to talk to you today about the importance of changing your oil.
Got two pistons here to show you why it’s so important. First piston we got out a vehicle. We took the rings off and cleaned it. There’s little holes here that I can fit this pin through. Pull it in and out. That allows the oil to go up and back into your oil pan.
Now, if you don’t change your oil you’ll get s piston looking more like this. This oil goes up and when we try to put our pin in and it won’t go in. Those holes are blocked. The oil goes past these other rings and into your cylinder; creating hot spots and lowering the efficiency of your engine. It can also create major problems; upwards to thousands of dollars.
